I bought this years ago on Gunbroker as a used and loved Kimber Classic Custom (Series 1 standard 70 series). Since the actual 250, Kimber USMC DET-1 guns come with a price tag above $6000 I decided to make one myself a bit cheaper.
These were delivered to the Marine Corp 100% Kimber. So I changed a few things from my factory gun to match that
-Factory Kimber ambi safety
-Factory Kimber 3-hole alum trigger
-Lanyard loop checkered mainspring housing
-Novak style sights, Black rear, orange online front with tritium.
-Tan VZ gunner grips beveled (in the wild we’ve seen bot
—a difference from the OG DET-1 is the Full Length Guide Rod. I prefer FLGR due to the feel during cycling. The DET-1 had a standard GI style guide rod that I can add of the buyer wants.
So other than markings, front sight and FLGR this is pretty close “clone” and one of my favorite 1911s I own.
Asking $900 shipped. PayPal FF, CashApp or Venmo. Post “I’ll take it” followed by a PM, PM all questions, comments or offers. Do not email me please
