I'm pretty new to 1911's, own several other styles but recently won a Kimber Custom LW. I realize this one isn't considered a great gun it shoots really well and now I'm looking for a higher quality gun. The question I have is this are the Gold Combat II guns really custom and justify the much higher price or are they production line guns with a custom shop roll mark. A local shop has one for around 1700 and I'm wondering if they are worth that or am I better off spending another 700 or so one one of the other manufacturers, Guncrafter, Nighthawk or Wilson.
