Traded for this from a fellow addict a couple years ago. Original owner stated that it was brand new never fired. I have not shot the pistol either. Comes with box 2 mags and manual. Sell for $875 shipped to your FFL. Trade for a LNIB Colt combat commander in 9mm or 45, or LNIB P30 9mm V1 LEM with extras. Let me know. Thanks!

The OP's gun is the Series 70 Reissue, the Classic is a newer model with a flat MSH, pre-70ish rollmarks, different hammer, and a couple of other minor differences. The S70 Reissue is a great gun, I have two.

These guns are great looking shooters right out of the box. They have polished flats vs the matte finish of the new O1911C. They have true rollmarks vs laser engraving. The general consensus is they had better fit and finish than the new classics. They came with standard Colt barrels but there are examples of ones with NM barrels. They certainly got more attention to detail than the current O1911C does. I believe they are now discontinued.

I have used them as base guns and have a stock one as well. Good gun good price. GLWS

Thanks. Yes this is a nice pistol. Blueing is nice and slide to frame fit is good. Was going to be a base for a custom. Decided I need to fill some voids in my collection before having another custom built. Can add more pics if anyone is interested.

WC145 got it correct. 1911C has narrow hood and lowered ejection port with live round notch. If only Colt had re-roll marked the series70 ( which it never was anyhow) and not given up the more polished blue of the earlier series70 repro, it would've been perfect.

But they are both great gov't Colts, Got one of each. Can't go wrong with either. They are Colts, good to handle prior to purchase if possible
