I just had Springfield Custom Shop bobtail the frame on my Springfield Trophy Match - which BTW I really love. The Trophy Match originally came with a magwell, which was lost in the process. Since I use this gun in IDPA competition, I'd like to have a magwell - or something resembling a magwell such as G10 grips that extend below the frame.

    Suggestions?

Here's some before and after photos that might help:

    AFTER:

Wearing the SA TRP G10 grips I use in competition, modified by me.

Looks great! I like the wood grips the best.

    Thanks!

I normally like wood grips best, too, but the G10 grips are sooooo much easier to modify for competition as you can see in these additional photos. Also, the black G10 grips can be very dramatic when I play with the lighting and camera settings. Note how dramatic the next image is compared to the 'normal' photo below it. Both photos show how deeply my mag release cutout is - a 5 minute project with G10.

FYI, I also started polishing the slide flats yesterday. It's a work in progress thing since there's still some OEM brushed S/S marks showing, plus this gun is a competition gun - no safe queen - so keeping it looking sharp will no doubt take some effort.
