Im about to hit the range (public range on a saturday, ugh. But gotta get away from my wifes gf thats spending a week with us 🤦🏻‍♀️). I think today, ill do the 25yd challenge first thing, before im all shot out. See if that makes any difference.

Pretty off day today. The challenge groupings were like in the 4” range, theyre getting bigger! 😂

Not challenge related, but I was feeling the need for a cardio session as well. Got home from the public range, and managed to book a bay at my other private range. Went and ran a bunch of “T” drills and other move-and-shoot practice.

Having some guys from church over tomorrow to shoot. Mostly total beginners, so I don't expect I'll get a chance to do anything at 25 yards. Today was too jam-packed to get out. Did some recording in the morning and afternoon, then helping run herd on the kids and helping my oldest sculpt his custom Grand Prix car design. He wanted to do a Star Destroyer. The little model ship (Corellian Corvette) will be incorporated into the car to recreate the iconic opening scene from the original Star Wars.

I guess this is more of a journal entry than a monthly challenge entry, but I already wrote it, so I'm posting it anyway. 😀

Most targets have a pair of holes in the center and the rest of the holes are on the target - solid performance for 25 yards…especially since it’s not an ACW 🤣

Ackchyuahlly….. I did a one-on-one session with one of the instructors at the range today, and at one point the exercise was to do my best 5 round group at 25 yards, using a 5” black bullseye.
I managed to not embarrass myself, and land all 5 in the black unsupported. My guess is it was a 3.5-4” group, still not close to having a shot at the title.

At my local range with my Garrison today shooting 230 Federal Hi-Shok. Stock iron sights, front is Dawson Fiber Optic at stock height. 25 yards, standing two hand unsupported. I forgot to stop at 5 so did 10 rounds but got all of them on paper (barely!). 79-0X, not bad for me. I'm thinking this might be a 6 o'clock hold gun; this was with top of front sight bisecting the bullseye.

Springfield is famous for 6 o’clock hold sights, you may want a taller front sight. I think they use a .350 rear.
