Marlin 1895SBL Scope Ring Question

284 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  K6_924
I am needing to know what height scope rings I need for my scope to clear the rear sight of a 1895 SBL. I have found answers all over the place between high and medium but it always was scope based so I figured I would give my scopes measurements to get a accurate ring height size.

Scope is a 2-7x32

Rear aperture is 40mm or 1.6 inches
Scope Tube is 25.4mm around
Scope tube is 114mm or 4.5 inchs long
Scope overall length is 292 mm or 11.5 inches

Below is a good read on how to determine ring height
The info about measuring for height is about half way down.

I know you will need at least medium, but the peep sight, along with eye relief are the wild cards.

I put mediums on mine, though it's a 30mm scope.
Any lower and they wouldn't have cleared the peep sight.

Perfect that’s what I needed to know. Beautiful rifle btw! This is mine.
I opted to remove my rear peep sight and front post. Mounted a Trijicon LPVO and love it. It’s a hog slayer and good from 150 yards in.
