The task was make these two Colts Twins, one thing I couldn't change was one is a full size the other a commander. Both 1991 A1 Colts. belonging to a fellow addict who will be revealed along with the pics.. they are a gruesome twosome for sure..

So, some work was done to one to match the other and back an forth, but the over all list is this..

Matching front sight cuts and matching sights installed
    Matching mainspring housings,
    matching btgs
    mag catches,
    fit WC matching triggers,
    trigger pull 3.5#
    countersunk and flushed slide stops
    25 Lpi checkering on both
slight blending around mag catch and trigger guards
    break sharp edges,
    carry bevel front and rear
flush rear of slide to frame
    flush cut and crown barrels
    new ignition set
    new WC commander ring hammers
    new springs
    disco cuts
    reliability jobs
And of course matching Park finishes.

These were a lot of fun actually, and the story of what they are for intrigued me, I always like when there is a story attached and the future of the builds become knowledge to me, it makes me want to make em as special as the cause is..

@limbkiller As promised Ed, I am sure these are a little better, but man my camera skills really suck lol.. I wanted to give you your own thread, so if you want to share the story of these two ladies you can ;) Twin Colts Parked 001.JPG Twin Colts Parked 002.JPG Twin Colts Parked 003.JPG Twin Colts Parked 004.JPG Twin Colts Parked 005.JPG Twin Colts Parked 006.JPG Twin Colts Parked 027.JPG Twin Colts Parked 030.JPG Twin Colts Parked 034.JPG Twin Colts Parked 042.JPG

Looking good Steve, I have to find something to send you :)

There was a new SS VBOB at the LGS, probably the last one in the country in 9mm, and I procrastinated at it was gone, it would had been a great base gun for a build :(

Awesome just need a pic or two from the rear to show the type of MSH. I will add a lanyard, probably leather to both. And Steve thanks for taking care of me so quickly. :cheers:They are just all business guns, nothing fancy 1911's. I have twin boys and they will inherit these. Plus I love park finishes if done correctly and these sure look like it.

Thanks again and these will be at the shoot along with the Lou builds for people to shoot.

No Wilson, GI, Guncrafter etc....... But they are all mine and I love being different.

Now to get in touch with Lou and get a plan on a SA SS mil-spec in place.

Damn they look good. I hope y'all like these but if ya don't........................ :roflmaro:;)

WOW! While perhaps not identical twins they certainly are "internal" twins. Very nice.

One of the guns had the internals, FS, and the sites already. The commander had the rat tail and hammer already and I just wanted them to look the same. I believe Steve did that perfectly. He really took care of me fellows.

Oh I had the triggers and grips also.

What’s not to like. Excellent workmanship and “all business guns, nothing fancy1911's”. A winning combination for sure.
I’m sure your sons will be very proud of them. Hopefully not to soon.:D

John if your serious about getting one done, I have been having some pretty good luck locating pistols for a few others recently. Like I said I do have a very very nice .45acp V-bob here I bought from another addict about 9 months or more ago, was barely shot and I haven't put more than 3 mags in the gun since I've had it.

I had to put new hammers in both of these the one we had was toast. and the internals were redone in the FS.. I went through these with a fine tooth comb buddy. You will want to clean these real good when you get them as I fired some rounds through both after the pics and they will be sop and wet when you get them. Whatever you clean with they could definitely use a deep cleansing after they sat in oil for 36 hours after park then cleaned and blew out for pics, fired. and some spot cleaning but they need a deep cleansing from their boss ;)
