I’m trying various mags and just picked up a 7-round Mec-Gar blued mag that has the matte finish. As a result it has a bit more friction than the glossy blued mags (and much more than their anti friction coating). Any suggestions on polishing this or other means to make it a bit slicker? It’s only a range mag, not a big deal, but I have to be more deliberate with seating the mag.

Try waxing it with a paste wax.
or Scotch brite with lighter grit pad
or buffing wheel, don't over heat it

Thanks. I hit it with a buffing wheel which smoothed it up a bit. While doing so I noticed that the drag mostly seems to be related to the follower’s friction when being depressed by the slide release. A combo of a stiffer spring, anti-tilt follower, and internal surface friction. I may just need to break it in a bit and perhaps use a dry lube on the inside of the mag where the follower rides.
