My buddy from FL. came up to deer hunt with me and took a set of my grips back with him to install a couple of 1911 quarters in them. I think it's kinda cool but wonder how long they will stay in place under the recoil of a .45. Might put them on my RIA 9mm but feel they should go on a .45. He bought the coins and installed them for free and I like them there just wondering what you guys think. Thanks for listening.

    Cool idea...

However, just my opinion mind you, it kinda distracts from the Colt rather than compliment it.

I know. I do think it would be better with a smaller coin more similar in size to the medallion grips.

I thought that to. A dime would be great but that's what he bought and I will put them on a gun. A good friend did this free and that means something to me.

Use them with pride. :thumb: Your friends nice gesture is worth much more than my opinion about the grips.

Would be slick if a 1911 dime was used.

I like them...I would leave it on the 45... Medallions on 1911 grips do come loose some times but not enough to stop Colt or Wilson from putting them in there grips....

I agree that it's an interesting concept. I'd like to see them on one of Colt's new reproduction 1911 models.
