I have written before about my love of Tucker Gun leather holsters. I, of course, have a host of other holsters that I typically cycle these two guns through (VBob & Sig P229 Legion SAO) which are my two primary carry weapons.

While the Legion is a bit lighter than the VBob and my vulnerable P320’s are lighter still, I find that the VBob in this Tucker holster is consistently the most comfortable carry I own.

Even with the added weight of the full steel frame of the VBob, something about how it carries just feels better.

Now to be fair, while both the Legion and the P320 are lighter they are fatter and that is probably the factor here. The slim profile of the 1911 makes it carry so well to me. I think the other factor is the smooth grips on the VBob. The G10’s on the Legion are pretty abrasive and tend to be more noticeable as well as the Ambi safety on it being IMHO too wide.

Do you find regardless of other factors you have a gun that just carries more comfortably than others?

I've found it's all about a good stout gun belt and how the holster attaches to the belt and how the holster spreads the weight of the gun on your body. I've also come to the conclusion, for what it's worth, that some body shapes are hard pressed to find a happy place whatever belt/holster combination is applied.
The combo that has worked for me many years is an avenger style holster with a Government size 1911. Smaller lighter guns work for me in cheap pancakes mounted on a solid gun belt. I'm not really a fan of the pancakes that they are useless for reholstering.
I've always admired them Tuckers but never had one.

My all steel CCO carries more comfortably in a Milt Sparks VM2 than either my G19 or G43. Even though it weighs quite a bit more it just carries so well. I keep thinking I must be crazy for thinking this way but I just prefer carrying the heavy, but stealthy 1911 CCO.

    Posted this pic on another thread, but thought it relevant here. Pretty much a perfect fit with my love handles;

Les Baer TRS or Dan Wesson Valor Government size in a stealthgear ventcore standard or milt sparks ss ll with a graith specialist gun belt works best for me. Weight and size has never been an issue. Although I would like to get a Dan Wesson Vigil CCO in 45. They look sweet for the money.

So far I've owned a Tucker HF1 & an HF2, and they are hands down the finest holsters I've ever had my mitts on! TuckerGunLeather has a sale going on right now as well as a short lead time. (3weeks I believe)
If anyone is on the fence about one of these, they're top notch, and now is the time!
(I highly recommend the full leather lining by the way.)

I have definitely discovered that there isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to holsters. I actually discovered my most comfortable holster / gun combination by accident. A month or so back another addict was selling a OWB and a IWB holster. I only wanted the OWB but he made me such a good deal that I bought both figuring that I could resell the IWB. After they arrived I thought I would at least try the IWB before I sold it. Fast forward and I am now exclusively using that IWB holster ! Turns out that the magical combination for me is that TT Leather IWB and my S&W e-series 1911sc.

There are compromises on holsters. In a perfect world a Tucker HF1 would be the only holster that I owned.

In summer I carry IWB but a HF1 is not IWB.

I can carry the HF1 in the winter months under a jacket but sometimes I need a quick on/quick off holster I can take out of my car and easily and quickly put on my belt. A HF1 isn't is as good as a snap holster for doing this.

Not hard to figure out why some of us have a drawer full of holsters.

    I agree 100%
A Milt Sparks VM2 is on my short list. I haven't tried one yet, but I have read great things about that particular holster.

I have both a Sparks Criterion and a VM2. I like the Criterion a little better than the VM2. And I like the VM2 better than any other IWB out there.

    I have 2 that I CCW, one a 5” colt 1911, in a Milt sparks SS II,
The other a Glock 36 usually in a Yaqui slide but just recently in a TT gun leather snapslide
I have to say my G36 lately has been my go to CCW. It’s weight and balance just seem right.

A tucker holster is on my short list, thinking it may be a sweet option for a DW ECO, hmm now I’m going to need an ECO,

The Vigil CCO or Valkyrie is next on my list. Will have to try one of the Tucker HF1.

Ya’ll just be prepared when you go to buy your Tucker. The list of options is almost endless on how to have it customized to your taste. I went pretty basic on mine to keep the cost down. Maybe some day I will really splurge on something more elaborate.

    ^^^^ RBR is correct.
I do suggest getting the leather lining.
My unlined one is kind of “hairy” inside.
Works great, I would just get the smooth lining next time.

    This is my feeling exactly.

I never dreamed that I would like anything better than the VM2, but the Criterion did it!
