I think the gun looks quite nice! Photos aren’t bad, but could use a bit more lighting and better focus.

That’s a great looking pistol. Clean finish with some very well executed lines and bevel work.

Thank you! I have a nice camera that I purchased just for this, just need to put down the files and figure out how to use it.

Nice clean lines without too many 'extras' spoiling the look. If she shoots as good as she looks I'd say it's a keeper. Well done!

I'm more impressed by function that looks... :)

    Thank you!
Actually my builds are based on reliability and accuracy, the cosmetics and finish are secondary.
Spent quite a few years learning reliability building and repairing IPSC guns, reliability is a MUST for IPSC competition guns. Spent the last 10 to 12 years focusing on accuracy. Bob Marvel has graciously shared his findings on his testing for accuracy with me and I now incorporated about 3 or 4 commonly overlooked things that can effect it. If a gun is build right and the small details addressed they will consistently shoot under 1.5 inches at 50 yards unless you have a faulty barrel which is extremely rare with Kart or KKM. As a mater of fact I rarely even use my ransom rest for testing anymore. Can't remember the last time one was outside of 1.5 inches if everything is properly addressed, of coarse your loads has to be right to obtain that level of accuracy.

The vast majority of 1911 style pistols I have built were for USPSA open class. 2" groups at 50 yards was acceptable, but the pistol ABSOLUTELY had to run flawlessly for thousands and thousands of rounds.

So I know where you're coming from. :)

Yep! I tell people if you have just 1 jam at a match it's like missing a gear in a drag race, might as well pack up and go home.

A customer comes in the shop and asks if I can fix the front sight on a Colt he purchased a while back. Look what was under all that silver solder.....yikes! Time to break out the tig.

Thank you for the compliments. I find myself reaching for that tig all the time. They are wonderful little machines.

You should see a hidden dovetail Bomar install. Very clean. But apparently, it's fallen out of fashion.

I've seen pictures and that is super slick, but yeah seems to have fallen from favor.

What I really want is an old Swenson style S&W rear sight on a gun.

Yes I love that sight cut. You have full adjustability and pretty good sight/blade protection too.
It's a complicated cut and takes some time to get just right especially with the angle to match the blade on the rear of the slide.

I used to watch my mentor do it all the time. He said the hidden dovetail install was the only one that looked 'right' to him. I never tried one though. It looked pretty involved.

My mentor installed a S&W sight on my series 70 GC. Worked really well and looked great to boot. :)
