As some of you know, I am a big fan of Mike Padgett’s work. @MDP

Mike built me a wonderful .38 Super Commander this spring, and even before he delivered it, I ordered a lightweight 9mm Commander from him.

I mean, I REALLY needed a LW 9mm Commander as I did not have one at the time.

Mike came through once more. He really builds a quality 1911 that just works, and at the same time is beautiful.

My tastes in 1911’s run to the less rather than the more, so this one has a gold bead front sight, U notch rear, and a Harrison Extreme Service smooth faced trigger.

    JEM LW frame, Remsport slide.

Mike sent this one to Nighthawk for them to have finished with a batch of their guns, and I think it came out very nice.

The DLC on the slide is on the grayer side of black, and it forms a very subtle two tone with the black anodized frame.

It functions flawlessly regardless of what ammo I feed it.

I ran it last Saturday in an outlaw IDPA match and it worked very well. Shot way better than the operator....

    Thanks for looking.

PS. Those are roses, not petunias, in the background.

Tom, that is really, really nice.
Mike always takes the time needed to make the gun as he wants it. All hand work and as much as it takes. No shortcuts and it shows when you handle it. Or would fondle be a more appropriate word to use.

In my case, fondle is more appropriate!
    Thanks!

    Ummm..... !!! This is perfection!

I think I’m a fan of Mike Padgett now.

I have the almost exact taste... simple, practical, yet a slight sleekness. Beauty in the simplicity.

Tell me more of the details.

How can I have one built?
How long was the waiting period?
    What’s the mean cost?

Thank you for the kind words guys. Nothing pleases me more than knowing you’re truly happy with the guns that you receive from me. I feel like a little bit of my soul is in every build that goes out the door.
