This is part of what my AR currently looks like. A friend of mine was helping me with choosing parts and putting it together since it’s my first time building something like this. He was pretty surprised with the hand guard.

The only thing worse then my 1911 addiction is my AR addiction which I have had since the 80’s. Building them is fun and was once described to my as adult erector sets. Which is true. Enjoy it!!

When you're breaking it in, you'll smell the anodizing wearing off. Run it wet during break-in. Looks like you got good parts.

Looks pretty good. You have the castle nut on backwards. Flip it around so the small notches are forward, then properly stake the endplate.

it was fun shooting this! Didn’t take long to zero in. Had A hiccup with the mag, got stuck pretty good, think I shoved it in hard. Took a while to get it out. But it ran smoothly, no failures.

a friend of mine who I brought with me was very impressed with the build too.

Is that the Magpul K2+? I had one before the the rubber got weird on me. Hopefully they reformulated so it's more durable.
Plan on keeping it that way or doing some upgrades?

If you're looking for upgrades, check out the A5 buffer system.
After that I'd say grab an end plate you like. Maybe another castle nut and stake it.
