Picked up an aluminum framed Guardian 9mm in a trade. I had a full stainless custom one, but had never handled the aluminum version. I must say it is a quality gun. I swapped out the grips for a pair of VZ Gatorbacks I had lying around, and I replaced the bushing and plug with a set that Dave Severns did in Hard Hat when he did my VBOB. The bushing seemed to fit just as well as the stock one and since they are both commander size, I felt it would be OK to use them. Someone smarter than me please correct me if I am wrong. I am planning on taking it to the range tomorrow to see how it handles. Here are a couplke of really bad cell phone pics.

Thanks Paul and Claire. I sure wish Don would've left the 10-8 on it. Now I have to buy one ,

Nice wade. The grips do compliment it nicely.

I hope it is really strong stuff since you don't know what kind of funk is going on in Don's "down south".

The grips look pretty sharp. I like the proportions of the Bobtailed Commander-sized guns. The flat trigger seems a fitting touch.

Looking forward to hearing how it shoots! :thumb:

Well, just got back from the range. All I can say is this gun is a total piece of ............

Freakin awesomeness !!!! I put 150 rounds through it today . It is very accuturate and shoots point of aim for me. It actually seems to handle recoil better than the all stainles version I got this in trade for. At this point, I don't care if GC foes the 9pm CCO. I don't see how it could be any better. Now I just need to get the barrel crowned and pick up a 10-8 rear.

Good to hear! That's interesting about the felt recoil compared to the steel gun.

What kind of loads did you shoot through it today?
