My wife drives a school bus for the county we live in. Many of the parents of the kids she drives knew she has been off work due to the surgery she had back in December. My wife has a good relationship with many of the kids and several of their parents.

Well she returned to work on Thursday of this past week. Yesterday, a little 3rd grader took a gift our of her book bag and handed it to my wife, then gave her a hug. The gift was from her parents.

My wife's supervisor saw the exchange from afar. She immediately called it in to have the district supervisor in attendance and began writing up her dismissal paperwork.

Next time that supervisor "jumps to conclusions" I hope she is on the edge of a cliff . . . . .

What say you? Oh yeah, here is the gift.

BTW Zoid, that’s just ridiculous - but we live in an age of ridiculousness. Some people ought to just mind their own business. But even the government has us all like Germany, with their “see something, say something” reporting mentality! Nothing wrong with the safety & security concept but it assumes a level of common sense that isn’t very common.

Oh my gosh it went that far?
I assumed once the bottle was examined by the first person it was dropped.
LMAO but no the district head had to decide lol.

She's not too bad, just a reactionary noob to the position. Her old supervisor retired a couple of weeks before my wife's surgery. My wife has been off work for six weeks and the noob hasn't been able to establish much of a relationship with her. Two days back and BAM . . . . wants to write her up and get her terminated for something she wasn't guilty of.

The noob didn't want to confront her until the district supervisor arrived. Something about "two sets of eyes" . . . . .

Hopefully your wife and her supervisor can work things out. It really sucks to work for someone you can't trust or seems to be fighting against you. I've been there...

I'm sorry your bride had to deal with this BS. Honestly I wouldn't care if the kid had given her a bottle of booze. If she's not drinking it and it's still sealed, who cares. I do hope she can develop a relationship with this new super but they sound like a snowflake.

Incredible! But sadly, all too commonplace.

This thread made me consider what it would take to pull me back into teaching again.

Yeah, pretty much Infinity $ times a Boatload. And even then I'd hesitate... and decline.

    :rage:

Unfortunately a reflection of what our society has become. I am sorry she had to go through this, hopefully the supervisor has learned from this
