A buddy of mine just inherited his father's guns. Had me over to look at them and I noticed this:

Yeah, I told him that was a cool find and offered to buy him a new one with bells and whistles to trade if he didn't care about the serial #, but that was from when his dad took him to his first gun show. I told him he should buy a new one so he could keep that one a safe queen. Hope he listens.

You think the serial number makes it worth that much more? I wasn't sure, since a Dan Wesson with a 00004 sold for just a little over NIB here a few years back. But Colt has that name appeal. If he's at all interested in selling, I'll let you know.
