FWIW: I don't personally have anything bad to say about 80 vs 70 style 1911 trigger systems. I own both types and having worked the fireing systems to my likening as I believe any owner should do or have done by qualified pistol smiths is what makes the gun a great shooter. When I'm looking for a 1911 I don't let the fireing safety system style come into play if the gun is what I'm in the market for. Also I don't think that sights should be a big factor as there are so many after market variations available to make it what you like and are comfortable with. Given you requirements as stated you should have no trouble finding something in your price range. New is nice and shines for a while but, as soon as it's fired it no longer new. I generally like to take advantage of a good used and cared for weapon and let someone else pay the new retail dollars.
