    Hey all.

I’m getting the itch to get a new knife. I’ve been carrying a Spyderco Endura plain edge with the Zytel handles every day for over 10 years. It’s a great knife. I just want something different.
I’d like to have something with a blade in the 3 1/2 to 4 inch length and under $75. I’d also like to try one that has bearings in place to make the deployment smoother and faster. I’ve never tried one of those with the bearings and would like to.

One that I’ve wanted for a while is a Spyderco Police with the Spyderco edge and stainless handle. Unfortunately they are about $125 and more than I want to spend right now.

What Knives would you suggest? Are there any that you really like and can recommend? What do you carry every day?

Thanks for your time and help. Have a great weekend everyone!!

    Larry

Have been carrying a Brend lately.
Sort of large, but, it's Winter- my carry guns are large too.

Unfortunately, a knife with good bearings and good operation/components does not align with your $75 price point.

For $75 I think you'd be in the Kershaw camp. You might be able to find a used Benchmade Griptillian.

My two EDC's are a Spyderco PM-2 or a ZT 0609. I have others but these two fit for me.

Yes for $75 its gonna be hard to find one. I have a Kershaw Link and its assisted opening, pretty smooth and fast. Not bad for the price. I think $45 I paid.

I rotated between a ZT 0561 and 0562. The 0562 is in my pocket now.

Any of the CRKT Shenanigan by Ken Onion would fit the bill nicely. They punch above their price point. I'll also second the Tuff Lite, amazing knife.

The Brend models take a vicious sharp edge quickly.
One of the things I appreciate about them.

A Few mentioned them in the price range your thinking Kershaw
I’ve had a Kershaw (ken onion). I bought at a gun show in 99/2000 on a whim along with a co worker purchasing one, And I can tell you it has held up to the rigers of daily life and spending 14 years with me in the fire station. If I remember correctly it was 50.00 back then probably not much more now?

I carry a ZT350 or a Benchmade mini reflex. Both over 75 but the ZT isn't by much. It's a helluva knife and a great flipper.

Hair over 75 but I love my Benchmade Bugout. So lite you’d think you lost it.

Own four Kershaw Blurs, all purchased under $50. Very nice knife for the money. Not the same mechanism you are looking for but has assisted opening.

First two started to dull after being carried for 2-3 years so I am currently pocketing #3 and need to find the time to sharpen the first two :)

Here’s mine. $5 from Home Depot. Always sharp. And no tears when it gets lost. (Also the reason I got banned from BladeForum).

I too believe your in the CRKT or Kershaw range with your budget and they both have done very nice edc knives.
I like the kershaw blur and leeks and a buddy of mine swears by his OSO sweets which can be had in the $15 price range in eBay.
I ordered him a five pack for like $65 about a year ago.

I personally carry my custom ZT0562 quite often
