Need Kimber advice

Hey there y’all. I work in a sporting goods store and I’ve got an opportunity to interview for the handgun manager position. Obviously my job would be to sell guns, the problem is that I’ve become a real snob, especially about 1911’s and there isn’t really anything we stock that I would personally be interested in owning, except for maybe our limited selection of Dan Wesson’s or Wilson SFX 9’s, and those would be out of most people’s price range anyway. But we do stock a lot of Kimbers though. So I guess what I’m asking would be, is there anything positive I can say about Kimbers from a sales standpoint purely for the sake of moving product? I’m thinking about going with how the USMC briefly used a limited number of them until Colt was able to meet production requirements for the M45A1. Anything else? Thanks in advance.

What negative experience(s) with Kimber have you personally had to taint you?

The frontstrap checkering on the Eclipse10mm is stock. I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to trigger length, but I do like the "feeeeeeel" and looks of a flat trigger. In my mind, a flat trigger and Stan Chen Magwell kinda elevates a Kimber from a "Chevrolet" to a "Cadillac."

I bought both of these guns as dogs that wouldn't run from their previous owners. The primary issue with both was a MIM extractor that just wouldn't hold tension. I replaced both with EGW and they have been reliable ever since.

When I tried to tension the original extractor on the Pro Carry HD II, I got this . . . . .

An easy cheap fix on a gun I got a couple hundred dollars below reasonable market price.

My question was for the OP. I should have been more specific. You done well, pilgrim.

I owned a total of five.
One ran great out of the box, and one was very rough in functioning; but did function.

The other three sucked, and sending them back to kimber didn’t get them straight.
All but one are long gone years ago…
Again, my question was directed at the OP, who has not responded. My point is comments from the internet are not personal experience.
