Daniel is an outstanding rifle. I had one of those and I don’t really think I’ve ever seen an ar made any better, or shoot any better once the mil spec trigger is replaced . If $1300 wasn’t the limit, I’d go with a DD. Mine was closer to $1600 without optics, and a new trigger. The factory trigger on them sucks.

Yep, swapped out the trigger for a Geiselle and have run that gun for 4-5 years now without one single issue!

This is my go to CQB rifle around the house.
Spikes Tactical, upper and lower, with a DD Middy CHF barrel and matching Boron Bolt.
Has a DLG Defense mil spec boron trigger group, Magpul furniture, and a Military Aimpoint M2 Red Dot, co-witnessed to the front sight.
It shoots like a hammer and kicks like a pellet gun!
    Love it!

    I’m thinkin

I’m with most everyone on any of the brands from DD/WC/PSA/RUGER.
I have a few Rugers 18” MPR and a new 10.5” that I haven’t even got to setup due to the move into the rental. But after a week of vacation I’m off the next week to recover haha so I plan on a lot of me and gun time. B30CEB5B-2090-40B6-A9AD-9ACEA1EA931A.jpeg FA5EF87E-A9FF-47F1-A169-8D6A2C1EE26D.jpeg

Great triggers, definitely look into those as well.

I’ve only had one trigger problem. A CMC decided it wanted to be a binary trigger. Emailed em and within a day was shipped at their expense and received a new one within days.

Can’t be buying and selling 4K hand guns and skimping on the AR. Just saying good glass and or red dot also make a world of difference also.

All my uppers are BCM. They are the best value out there.

Hey guys, thanks. I'm going to build my own and go with some good parts. Where should I start?

What ever you do, go with the same maker, for the barrel and bolt!

Who’s your upper and lower with? Then go with barrel, BCG. Those are your bread winners

Aero Precision makes a great matching upper and lower combo, problem is you have to catch them when they have them in stock. I built 2 Aero Precision ARs. Their lower kits are good, the buffertube is a good value, Just look around for barrels and what type of hand guard you want.

Geissele trigger regardless. Depending on your intended usage ssp, ssa, or NM. White oak makes good barrels at a great price but the possibilities are endless. I like Precision Firearms if $ and time aren't factors. Make sure that your barrel and bolt match. Matched reciever set. Are you going to lap your upper and bed the barrel? What about an optic? KAC is always a winner and BCM is a know quality if you're more looking to put together a lower and then slap a complete upper on it.

Right now you won’t find the parts. Buy a complete rifle off the shelf.

Once you get/buy/build what you want, good luck finding any ammo to shoot in it. Lately, what ever you can find is getting really pricey.

    Yea, forgot about that.

I'm waiting on parts to come back on market, to finish a 5.56 11.5" pistol build!
