I received my new Wilson CQB Commander in 9mm about three weeks ago and have three range trips and 700 rounds through it so far. Might hit 1,000 tomorrow or Tuesday. One fail to return to battery after the second shot (about an eighth inch out) and not a hiccup since.

Ordered it just the way I wanted with naked slide and dust cover, leaving the logo on the right rear of the slide. Round butt mag well, gold bead front sight and deluxe bluing with polished sides and frame.

Being a died in the wool .45 guy I really was not sure what I would think about the 9 and have not shot any 9's since the late 80's when I carried one on duty for a few years during transition from revolver to semi-autos but that was replaced with the .40 in 90.

With the arthritis in my thumbs and wrists, I thought it was time to try it again. I love it, pretty soft shooting and can easily shoot 300 rounds a range session without hurting. My max with .45's was down to about 200, even with my mid range reloads.

Joined a second range that allows you to take steel targets out and ordered three silhouette targets from shootingtargets7. Ordered on a Tuesday morning and they were delivered on Wednesday. Great quality and so much fun. Will keep my membership at my other range also as I do enjoy the group of people there. The new one charges a whopping 25 a year for seniors.

Lastly, I ordered a new pair of shooting glasses, the old ones never worked out very well. They had a bifocal in the top of the right lense and the lenses were kind of curved which screwed with my astigmatism. The new ones are just an old set of my regular frames with the entire right lense set to focus at the distance to my front sight. Will test them tomorrow or Tuesday and after testing them here at home I'm very hopeful. Still just practice with my standard glasses for quick defensive practice, so these are just for trying to shoot bulleseye.

The bullseye target was 30 rounds at 10 yards standing no support, the steel was shot very fast at 15 yards and the little 4" gong was at 25 yards, standing no support and I shot 10 rounds at that.

Beautiful gun and nice shooting. I love the sounds of ringing steel.
A perfect Wilson. Those new shooting glasses should work out fine for you. I had the same made up for me many years ago and they were perfect for range use.
Beautiful Wilson and some great shooting.

Those targets arrived fast! I'm going to have to browse their site.
Great looking Wilson, and some pretty nice shooting too!

Do, they are super quality and great customer service. Just ordered another 8" gong with a bullseye center. Should be great for the 25 yard line.

shootingtargets7.com really is a great business to deal with.
