I bought this about two months ago, always wanted a 38super so I bought this. I ordered a few parts from Wilson Combat and installed them, new Bullet Proof Slide Stop, Flat Wire Guide Rod and Spring, and Bullet Proof Sear Spring. I also ordered a Bullet Proof MSH to replace the Colt Plastic one can't under stand why they would do that but oh well. I put the Wilson MSH on and ran into some problems, the GI style Grip Safety would hang up once I installed the MSH, so I looked and couldn't figure what was causing it, so I had a NightHawk One Piece MSH/Mag Well, figured what the heck lets try it, well it fit and the GI Grip Safety works just fine just needs to be blended to the frame but I'm going to hold off on that I'm thinking about getting one of Stan Chen Mag Wells. I guess the Wilson one was a tad to long not sure I didn't measure them, but it works. Also found some old VZ OD Green Grips and threw them on, here are a couple of before and after, now I just need to break this one in and figure out what I want to do next.

The top of the Wilson mainspring housing was probably rubbing the grip safety. The nighthawk magwell looks great though. I’d keep that instead. Grips look great too. You should do an EGW thick flange angle bore bushing and plug too. I love that look and put them on all my 1911’s.

I like it It OP!

I have always wanted to do a .38 Super build. I'm thinking keeping the pistol pretty much stock appearing except for a bobbed hammer spur, old school grip safety like a Hoag, match barrel, match bushing, Accu Rails, old school Wilson Combat thumb safety, Harrison GI style rear sight and tritium front and bright nickel finish with ivory grips(only if I could afford ivory) with Mexican Eagles carved in them.
