I went to the range across the state yesterday to try the Staccato P they had at the rental counter. Really nice gun but then I tried the DVC-C and that’s all she wrote, I came home and found one at a great price online so it’ll be on it’s way tomorrow.

The only thing I don’t like is the Ambi Safety, I’m assuming standard 1911 safety’s work. I usually fit/install the Wilson BP in my 1911’s so I’ll get one ordered if they work.

Congrats on your DVC-C! Let us know how she shoots when you get her home.

Yes, 1911/2011’s share the same thumb safety.

Oh I will Descartian, I've seen you mention that they now come with 126mm grips and the newer crappy textured grips. This one however is coming with the 120mm V.I.P. frame and DVC stipple. I thought it had the alloy frame as well but I could be wrong, either way it'll be fine.

Ok, just picked it up and ran 200 or so rounds on the back yard range, it doesn’t like my slow poke CZ ammo, :) Factory S&B 124s ran like a top as did the 124gr gold dots pushed by 6.2grs. of power pistol. Super soft recoil, I only tested accuracy at 10 yards off hand 8-9 in the same hole or a very ragged hole.

When I got my EDC x9 I did the exact same thing and knew immediately that was not my gun, there was something very off with that gun for me and I knew right away that I hated it. This STI is going to be my gun.

    So here’s how it came.

    3.9” barrel
    Alloy frame
    120mm DVC stippled grip
    1-120mm magazine
    2-126mm magazines

I’ve seen a ton of EDC-X9’s on the secondary market this past year. I’ve seen very few DVC Carry’s. Your statement about the X9 is reflective of how many people are selling them. The lack of DCV Carry sales is reflective of people’s reluctancy to let them go.

Agreed on the X9 and DVC Carry. But I wish STI would go back to the tritium sights. Not a fan of the fiber optic ones.

I love the fiber optic for a carry gun, so easy to pick up with the eye.

I'm saving up for the Staccato-C but that DVC-c is where my heart is at.

If a double stack is what you want, save up the extra $1k and get the DVC! You’ll be happier long term.

I got the Wilson safety installed today, hacked together a holster for the TLR-7 and shot a couple hundred more rounds though it, the ammo it was choking on yesterday is running great today. I’ll get the RMR mounted and sighted in this weekend.

This thing really is fun to shoot. :)

I’ll get the safety send in for the DLC in a week or two.

I will also be getting a double stack, but going for the single first. A STI rep at the NRA show in Indy said in about one year there MAY be a new double stack in the DCVC size at the Staccato P price.

You can find one now. Just look for a Guardian or VIP.

I don't normally have a lot of interest in 2011' in carry sized but this model is REALLY making me rethinking that opinion.

Do you know what the model number is? Have you figured out if this is an alloy or steel frame?
