I'm new here. I've done some shooting in the past, but that was many years ago, and am now returning to the topic with renewed interest.
At a recent visit to a local gun shop, where I was getting a feel for a variety of potential semi-auto handguns, I found that they had some WWII 1911s. By that time I had handled a number of brands, but as soon as I picked up that 1911, it was as if it was made for my hand. Perhaps a tad large, yet the feel and contours and ergonomics were superb. The only other time I had that feeling was picking up replicas of Colt SAs. That experience taught me that the 1911 was for me. I'm open to other similarly well-designed handguns, but my standard of "feel" bar is now set quite high.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hello", and Happy New Year to everyone.
