I am mainly a 1911 guy, but I do have a few revolvers- Ruger GP100, two S&W 500 Magnums, and a BFR 45-70. I also have owned a Korth Super Sport for a few years, after drooling over it for almost 5 years. I started saving for the Korth Classic about a year ago, and the gun just arrived at my FFL this week. It's a real beauty, but now I can't decide whether to keep it as a safe queen or take it to the range. The Super Sport is an amazing revolver, the trigger is like a fine 1911, and it is extremely accurate, and also quite a sight to behold. Here are my two Korths, anyone out there own the Korth Classic?

If you don't shoot it, you have a large, pretty statuette that you can't even display on your end table ... and cost as much a decent used car.
I tend to agree w/ you. And I remember the story of being married to a beautiful woman and not consummating the marriage, sigh. Maybe I'll just look at it on the coffee table for a week and then take it to the range. Maybe that's the right middle ground  . I spoke w/ Korth's tech support folks in Germany and they said the finish is rather tough and would clean up beautifully. The Super Sport shoots amazingly well, so I have high hopes for this.

So far the consensus is to shoot it. And as I said, I don't do safe queens. I did speak w/ Mark Stone at Nighthawk and he owns the same blue Classic but he hasn't shot his yet. I'd liek to look in his safe one of these days, but I think I will go ahead and consummate the acquisition.

As far as costs, this costs more than my first dozen cars, but it a lot better on the eyes :geek:

Gorgeous revolvers.

Is the one with white grips finished in Nighthawk's "Blue DLC"?

It's one of my favorite finishes, if so (and still beautiful if not!).

Always wondered if they could or would do that blue DLC on anything other than a Korth. Anybody know?

i take my Mongoose to the range and maybe shoot all of 50 rounds. i went from 357 magnums, down to .38 specials.

as for me the 357's are a wee bit too much, and i feel the 38's are easier on me and the gun overall.

i bought mine in March 2021, and currently have 538 rounds thru it, a combo of 357's and 38's..

i think that no matter how much (or little) rounds go thru it, when it comes time to sell..??

it'll go.

You may already know this but, shooting such a fine handgun only adds to the beauty (to you). When you look at it, you’ll see the Art, but also Feel it as well, remembering how it felt to shoot.
At least that’s how it works for me.

I'm not sure if that is blue DLC or not. The gun was hand built in Germany. The finish in the flesh is jaw dropping and I was going to suggest to Nighthawk that they do their guns in the same finish. I just sent a note to tech support in Germany asking about the finish. I'll let you know the answer when I get a response.

Excellent, thanks, @PhilaPop !

Based on the passage here, from Korth Classic , it really sounds like it's DLC/PVD:

If they say that it is, would you mind asking if they would consider applying it to other firearms? 😬
That is already in my plans. Given my experience w/ the Korth Super Sport I have come to the realization that I MUST fire the gun to fully appreciate it. At that point I will contact Mark Stone (who owns the same blue Classic) and tell him what he is missing, and in that conversation I will suggest the same finish on their 1911s. That finish on one of their 1911s would be simply amazing. Stay tuned...
