I like this a lot.
Wow those pics turned out small.
oh noes!!! FCS on a compact
I want it just because it says Costa on it
Good Looking gun though
I found my rail gun. I even like the FCS on the full size and the roll marks are pretty well done too.
a few things that make me go "hmmm..."
why use a Jardine Tactical Hook rear sight (which is for a BoMar cut) instead of a Heinie Ledge or 10-8 rear?
why use a Heinie Straight-8 rear sight with a FO or outlined tritium front sight?
why have a hook sight on one, and a slanted sight on the other model?
The Heine rear is only on available on the compact - and I agree that a FO front with that rear would be an interesting sight picture. I have no idea why it was spec'd with the Jardine Hook in lieu of the 10-8. That might be a good question to ask on Costa's FB page as he seems to be fairly responsive.
I think the compact was an afterthought.
i'll let Paul (Hokie) ask Costa (he's a Bearded ball washer), or i'll just wait for when Costa is in town for class.
 I was going to mention (volunteer) Hokie, but I figured someone else would...
NH selling more "other peoples stuff" than their own. Tacky I think. Does anyone think this is a good idea? Maybe I'M crazy.
The other thing I've noticed on NH guns..a magwell on a carry guns?
I don't much care about the whole name/branding thing...
I don't like the Recon model. I don't know why they would do the Jardine rear sight... and the reverse angled dustcover is ugly. The older Recon frames were much nicer IMO.
I dig the Compact model a lot though.
I DO like the high undercut front strap.
I am sure they will be great guns... but, I'll shell out $ for a Dan Wesson ECO at less than half this cost of the Costa Compact.
I don't like either of the packages.
But there are elements that I do like:
1) profile cuts on both slides are nice and different.
2) the upper rail profile that matches the rest of the frame's width.
3) NH magwell on the full size.
Never did understand why they add an extended magwell on a compact model. Similar to the T3...which brings the frame close to the height of the regular gov't/commander size, so their goes the CCO designation.
It's not for me.
doesn't NH use you for Hard Chrome?
As long as there are people that reach some sort of "celebrity" status within a market, there is going to be someone who will put their name on it to help try and move product. Baer has the Emerson CQC package and the "Thunder Ranch Specials", there is the "Bill Wilson Carry Pistol", and of course we all know about the Maricopa Tactical GI grin.
Agree with you on the Magwell. I don't particularly want it on my carry gun.
My GC .50GI just says Model 1. Maybe that's why I got it for such a good deal? :eyebrows:
Now that is a beefy rear sight!
Reason #1...they are an abomination to man kind on any pistol.
Reason #2 Look up
Reason #3 they couldn't blend the rear sight to the slide. Looks like a third nut hanging over.
Reason #4 billboard
I sometimes like the option to remove, but in general i prefer them for CC
