Kovert just dropped a few models from a new company called Dark Forge - supposedly the founders of a previous company that went over their skis.

https://www.kovertprojects.com/product-category/dark-forge/

Speaking only for myself, I find the pricing too high for an unproven gun ($1250 extra to make a ported gun comped?), the rollmark/label is hideously obnoxious, and the looks make me wonder what exactly they were going for. Just when it seemed the 2011 market was sorting itself out, there’s another “hold my beer”.

That said, always happy to read reviews if anyone gets one in the near future.

2011 companies now are the equivalent to what CrossFit was in the 2011-2015 era.

There were a few elite gyms that everyone had to be a part of (back when the CrossFit Games were legit). Then, as time progressed, a gym opened on every street corner with a cornier name and logo led by a "seasoned/experience coach" and prices through the roof for monthly memberships to keep the gyms afloat and justify all the equipment that would eventually be sold off because the gym couldn't make ends meet.

The Weapon Collective eluded that Dark Forge / Rogue Tactical might be behind doing Taran's Sandviper... In that case the gun 5" comp'd and ported version should make for an interesting shooter. The looks are very polarizing for sure, it's like a cybertruck, either you dig it or you dont. Would be cool to see more info on these guns actually being tested and shot.

My Cardinal is one of the very few 2011s I own that I feel doesn't need porting:). That being said, if you're going to port something, PORT it. The little "dyna" ports in that new model won't do much of anything I imagine. Slap a Grand Master Genghis Comp on that thing and report back!

Maybe I'll run the G2 against the Reaper when it comes in and share my findings:)
