Stopped by a local store today and spied a new Springfield railed 1911 with an RMR. Looked factory, and according to the counter guy, it was indeed a factory gun. Nothing shows up on their website, but they don't have a great track record of keeping it up to date.
Does anyone have any further news? I'm interested as hell in it, but not if it's not a factory job. They aren't my favorite shop, and it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled something shady

I like this one but no idea why they didn’t give it a light rail. Would have been a great bump in the night is backwoods carry gun.

Not sure how well a red dot works with a light

It works pretty well actually, but I personally don't like them for SD in confined areas. IMHO the dots are more for distance.

I’ve had the opportunity to shoot at night with an RMR HRS and 1k lumen surefire x300. I’ve had no issues using it with white light and this combo so long as your dot isn’t set to a brightness for NODs.

More and more factory guns will be going with rmr's (dot mounts/mos style). Not saying the majority of the line within a manufacturer but it is the future, one way or the other.

If that gunbroker price is reflecting what these will sell for, that is an insanely great price. I wonder if it is using a type 2 RMR with 3 MOA dot.
