$42.99 for a 50 rd box of 230 ball?
My 2 uninformed cents which are quickly dropping in purchasing power with inflation…

I think the QC process they are using is very expensive, as are materials and labor, especially for a new small business, and it is reflected in the price. To your point, for practice ball ammo it is expensive and probably superfluous for most (including me), but for self defense loads that process is a plus and worth the cost.

I would be happy to share my numbers.

Here it is per round of ammo of the .45ACP Hardball match
Brass: $0.20
Powder: $0.03
Primer $0.22
Bullet: $0.13
Packaging $0.03
Profit $0.20
----------------------------
Per round $0.81
$0.08 10% Fed excise tax
__
Total $0.89 Per Round

Addition costs that come out of the $0.20 per round profit
2.5% plus $0.30 per transaction
Website costs
Domain name costs
insurance costs
electricity costs
equipment costs
shipping materials

I am sure I am forgetting a few items

So yes, $42.99 for 50 rounds

Not your fault though. I would not have guessed it would be that much per round either until I ran the numbers.

Thank you! Small pistol primers are double what they were a year or two ago. Large pistol are over 4 times as much! The primers are killing me.
I'm surprised you can find small pistol primers at all. I sure can't! Between primers and powder, my reloading has really slowed down! Keep up the good work!!
