In true addict fashion, im undecided. A 45acp CCO is needed in the stables. And I cant really decided. So here we are, im asking the psych ward their thoughts.

Ive narrowed it down, kind of. To NHC T3, ACW prime compact (Brimstone), WC commander compact and possibly the stealth. Im a fan of the 4.25" esthetic vs the 4", but 4" is a considerstion. Im excluding Baer and DW. Due to refinement wants and not wanting to deal with quirks as least as possible.

Im leaning, I think, towards the ACW. Ive heard alot of good things and the classic minimalist style I like alot. NHC, is a very close second for styling. And maybe better execution? WC im unsure on, maybe an older one would be a better representative of WC than newer ones.

Ive not owned any if the above mentioned. And im sure CS for each is atleast adequate to stellar. And execution may be so close of the 3 it's just down to esthetic preference.

Any owners of one or multiples of these want to chime in, with your thoughts. Help me decide my next drug of choice?

I’ve owned a heinie cco and I currently own a ulcc in 45. The heinie was a true cco with 4.25 inch barrel and was my most accurate gun and I foolishly traded it away. It’s a discontinued nh model now but I’m sure the t3 is equally as good. My ulc is a 4 inch slide with compact frame and it’s aluminum. Mines an older wct prefix and it’s a super super tight build, when Wilson was peak and it shoots amazing as well, only thing is I’m not really a fan of the aluminum frame for long range sessions.

Yes, I forgot to add that. I wasnt initially an aluminum frame fan. The feed back "feeling" through the frame i didn't like. But ive since grown to be ok with it in 9mm. For 45 I do feel a steel frame is the way to go.

No feeding or quirky issues to speak of with the 4" WC 45? Obviously its not the best range toy being aluminum, sure it carries nice though.

The ulc has been solid with zero malfunctions. I haven’t brought myself to carry it yet though when I have other things I can carry.

I've owned Wilson and NH and Colt. Each was servicable. I've kept the Wilson UltraLightCarry and a NH Costa Carry, the first in 9, the later 45. I've kept one Colt Defender (45) out of three I've owned. The Defender is set up with an extreme close quarters front sight that really does the job. The wilson UltraLight may be the most comfy 1911 i've toted long hours with;' the NH Costa is by far the most comfy CCO I've ever shot with the flat spring system in it. Truthfully, you can't go wrong with any maker you listed, throw Cot in - they've been doing Defenders right for the last 10-15 years in my book.

Ive tried the defender, I cant. The 1 i could get to run and it's still stubby to look at. Ive been pretty disappointed with colt as of late. I've got my EA custom colt CCU CCO. So my 9mm cco bullet is filled.

And im not trying to send this one off, just pay to play so to speak. For about the same money I could send one to dave again, yea. But then I wouldnt have a NHC, WC etc.

As a fan of 1911 CCOs I do not have any custom ones that are mentioned but if I had money I would buy a Nighthawk T3...lightweight frame...blacked out...with a smoked nitride finish in 45acp. I would think all the customs listed in your post would be pretty equal as far as accuracy and quality. Sometimes the look of a 1911 just calls me and that's what the T3 does.

I’m definitely a CCO fan and have a number in 45. Of those you originally listed, I think you’ll be very happy with the ACW. Nothing to complain about in the Nighthawks either. One brand that I’d add to the mix is Guncrafter. There is one in the classifieds now that’s an absolute steal, but it’s in 9mm

I have one in 45 that’s utterly redundant in my collection but is a keeper since it’s more reliable and accurate than any other CCO I own.
