    Nighthawk T3? Magwell & MSH

    T3 owners, and esteemed Gunsmiths.
All the info I see on the T3 is that the Magwell is A 2 pc by looking at the parts schematics/photos, would I be able to remove the Magwell portion of the MSH and still be able to use the MSH without the Magwell part.

I realize there maybe a minor space from the Magwell being removed. Just looking to shrink the grip foot print a touch more.

Yes, it can, but as you surmised, there will be a gap or space on both side of the bottom of the remaining MSH, but if you are ok with that, go for it.

With that being said, the T3 magwell is already very blended, and has such a small footprint, just curious what you are really going to gain by removing it? The benefit of a quicker and easier speed reload, at least for me, far outweighs any minor savings in grip footprint. Obviously, YMMV.

    Thank you

    Really 2 reasons.
    The Look with different grips.
And to see how I liked the feel & carry minus the mag Shute. I answered my own question and jumped in and did it, I guess a-tad shy with a previous issue with a colt MSH that someone else messed with.
It could use a refinish but may end up as part of the next safe downsizing.

It's definitely a form vs function thing.
I love the look without it, but appreciate the ease of reloading
