How many of you have pictures of a family member holding a 1911? This is my grandfather holding a 1911 during WW1. Several men in my family carried these during WW1, WW2, Korean War, and several other wars

It sure would be great to have this 1911 that he carried in the Army! I do have a paper that lists the serial number of his issued 1911, and 03 Springfield!
It might be worth sending an email to the CMP to see if they have it, and could step outside of their normal processes to let you specifically purchase that one if they do.
Beautiful! Is this from someone in your family, or is it a collection? Wherever it came from, it is AWSOME! Thank you for sharing. I'd love to see more pictures on this page.
That great American grandpa of yours is displaying the steely gaze of a proud and determined soldier. He also looks like he could of swung that forearm of his around and finish the Kaiser with one blow.
Fantastic! Did he pass his marksmanship skills down to you? Awesome accomplishment and memorial of your great grandpa. Thank you for sharing.
