I am finding it difficult to reach/release the mag release on my Tisas 1911, maybe due to small hands. I am considering changing the mag release for an extended one or an oversized one, but I am unsure which type to select.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

I like the 10-8 angled release.

I shoot USPSA and also needed a quick easy mag release.
This is an ED Brown extended with oversize button on my SA RO.
Also added a lightened mag release spring.
Then I took a Dremel and added the grip relief myself.
This setup works fantastic for me! (front strap checkering added by NHC, thanks Bob!)

I went with the slightly extended mag release from EGW.
Just right for my medium-sized hands.
No unwanted mag drops with any of my holsters. Gret checkering. Tool steel.

Slightly extended and a small button like Dawson's low pro make a good combination

The EGW extended release arrived today, but I am having a tough time unscrewing the small mag release screw. Any ideas or tips? Maybe I just need a screwdriver with a larger handle to exert more pressure.

What Pool Dude said above ^^^^

Take a look at a few mag catches in the raw and you will see how they function.

BTW, I finally got a photo of the 10-8 slanted, extended mag catch I've installed.

I love this one.

Thanks. I found that link last night and realized it was not a screw. Should have looked at a couple of vids on removing before posting. Thanks again

Check it out before you depend on it.
A USPSA Classifier here recently called for a weak hand only string of fire.
One guy suddenly found that his left hand grip on his new gun pressed on the magazine catch.
Clank.

I have the mag release out but now having problems removing the catch lock. I am turning it clockwise as required, but it only turns approx 1/8 turn instead of 1/4 turn to release it and the spring.

I like the EGW mag release with a scoop cut in the grip.
Good call.

Here is in one of mine with the EGW mag release. View attachment 420979
I’m pretty much tapped out for a bit so unless I want a divorce (tempting) I’ll have to pass.
Some of the other stuff from this estate sale is even more choice.

EGW is good stuff.
I have large hands and short fingers.
I rotate the gun slightly in my hand to get to the release.
Some practice and you'll do it without thinking about it.
Watch some Doug Koinig (I spelled that wrong) video's he does the same thing.
We kinda came up together in the sport a long time ago. Obviously he kept practicing.
I keep buying 1911's LOL
