Polishing 2011

Hey guys!

Im wondering is there a thread or a video on polshing a 2011/1911 to make it smoother? I was going to do this on my staccato P.

Leave it alone…. IMO this is a bad idea.

If it’s not smooth, it likely either needs cleaning or shooting more to break it in.
If the XC has more hand polishing to make it smoother off the bat then why cant I do it to the P?
Polish it by shooting 5k through it

You believe that marketing hype?? Is it the sear, disconnector they Polish for a better trigger feel or the rails for smoother action? Do they machine them less so they have the extra material to hand finish and still be within spec? Does over polishing close up pores that retain oil for proper lubrication? What are your personal goals of polishing?
Generally people are skeptical about giving advice because if done improperly it can cause issues and they don’t want to be responsible.
Shoot it, send it to Brandon Buhler for the Marvel disco cut.
It's a production gun. You want glass smooth that's a different build process.

I own 4 Staccatos and they are good for what they are. But don't fool yourself, it's a production gun done right.
