I've been on both sides, and while it sucks not having the things you want but can't afford, it is incredibly liberating to not have the stress of debt hanging over your head. Especially if you find yourself with a loss of income for any reason!

I think there are situations where being in debt may be advantageous, but you have to be very thoughtful about what you're going into debt for. If you've never experienced being debt free - it's pretty awesome!! I have come to cherish my POS car with 315,000 miles...runs great and gives me a car payment per month of ammo money!!
