Installed Proctor's Y notch rear last night on a recently acquired STI Marauder. Been running Proctor's Y rear notch on my Glocks for some time now and have come like them. A bit more work for precise work, but they are quick to acquire. I'm also a big fan or rear sights that incorporate a ledge for one hand manipulation over the Novak style ramped rear sights.

Frank Proctor is a pretty accomplished guy and good firearms instructor.

Never seen a corner cut on the inside of the notch like that, thanks for sharing this. How wide is the opening?

Haven't measured the 1911 sight, but if it is like the Glock sights, the notch is .100 where vertical, and widens to .170 at top of the Y. This allows for quick front sight aqcuisition for faster shooting. However you still have enough vertical space toward the bottom of the sight (.100 notch) to align your front sight to get those precise or farther shots off no problem.

It's different, but worth trying imo.

Looking good! Where did you find those for sale? Proctor site didn’t have anything last time I checked.

His site is confusing to me. There's like a link on his products page to another site it seems for his products. I sent you a direct link via PM to the 1911 rear sight .:)
