Is the prodigy comp worth getting over the original prodigy? Does the comp make enough difference? Would it be better to save the $80 msrp difference and just get it ported/comped from a monsoon or similar?

DSC Gunworks and likely other similar shops, offers a 'comp fix' service where they purport to 'optimize' the OEM comps..

If you already made the Prodigy or similar gun spend and are thinking of comping but not sure if you'll like the outcome..

..or you want a comped gun for just some applications, consider a DSC Gunworks Comp Barrel addition- easily reversible mod- for about the same $ as a comp cut and slide refinish - priced @ $395.

Here's an esteemed Addict's Ytubs channel, wherein he discusses this very mod, on a Prodigy. ;D

I have a 4.25” Prodigy standard, a friend bought the comped. With range ammo I can’t tell the difference. Mine is a truck and sometimes home pistol. Didn’t try the comped with +P jhp. Not a fan of comped pistols unless they’re competition guns shooting major power loads.
