Bit by bit, I'm turning into one of those old guys who used to caution me against being an early adopter...
6.8 has been in the works for a long time because of the need of more terminal performance. I dont think that's going anywhere.I'm sure the A1 version will rectify all perceived shortcomings, then the rechambering to to a lighter, less bulky cartridge will take care of most of the real ones, and eventually they'll end up with a Next Gen rifle that weighs less than 8lbs naked, and has ammo light enough the average soldier can easily carry in excess of 200 rounds! Oh wait...
