Do any of the production level maunfacturer's make a 9mm railed Commander? I can't seem to locate any but I've only got my white belt in "google-fu".

I don't want a Dan Wesson as I'm planning to ruin... I mean... work on it myself over time. Something like a Springer or Ruger or some-such.

Yes. Fusion Firearms does. They will configure one however you want. I'd take one of those over SA.

Not looking for a semi custom/custom as I want to work on it myself. I’ve done it with a mil-spec and had a lot of fun.

Unfortunately they do not. Just the Lightweight Champion in 45

Not referring to a true custom. What I’m saying is Fusion will make the “starting point” 1911 you want with nothing you don’t want. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality is very very good. Now is the time to buy with the sale they have going on.

I am surprised at the lack of factory available railed Commander sized pistols chambered in 9mm. Even RIA doesn’t catalog one.

    Same. I was surprised
Specifically looking for a single stack as my state is restricted to 10 round mags.

    I had to.

Colt had a short run of a railed commander a couple years ago, but it may have been in .45. Their pricetag was pretty high I remember.

Buy a frame and slide since you want to build it anyway. Or your going to have to deal with it’s more money then you want to spend or doesn’t have the options you want ECT.

Could get one of these and fit it to a regular pistol.

STI as well with many high cap mag options. +26 rounds if you do not mind the mag hanging out the bottom. So with 2 spare mags and one in the gun, you could carry 69 rounds total with 2 each 26 round and 1 each std 16 rounds and one in da pipe.

If you can’t find a true production model then you should seriously consider a Fusion. My only experience with them is my 9mm Government GI that I ordered from them on sale earlier this year. I believe that it is their cheapest base model. I paid around $520 OTD at our local (only) FFL. A little picky on ammo but it is quite accurate.

    Sorry, What state?

I too have a mag ban but preban mags are good. That is what I use.

I just looked. The only pistol that they sell with a rail starts in the mid 2K.
I have a Fusion kit. Bob is great however they simply don't have what I'm looking for at this time in budget. It doesn't seem that anyone does. I'd have to build one or have it built and I am about to send a frame/slide and parts to a 'smith and have it built so another build is not in the budget for me at this time.
I bought a SA GI a few years ago and spent some time upgrading it. I like it a lot but would really like a railed commander in 9 on the cheap to do something similar with. Oh well.

NJ. We don't have anything "grandfathered" and are currently waiting on the courts to help. State courts are not doing it so several 2A groups are hoping to take it to SCOTUS.
