I'm tired of digging in the dark cave, any recommendations for safe lights? I've looked at various LED strips at Lowes and Home Depot. Can't decide whether to go battery powered with motion detection or 120v with some kind of door switch. Thoughts?

I keep a little flashlight sitting on top of my safe for when I need to see in the dark parts.

Holy Moses, if you guys need to install a lighting system in your gun safe.....you...have a really big gun safe!

Me? I just keep a little flashlight right inside the door on a shelf and use it accordingly.

Do a Amazon search for gun safe lights, led with motion detector they make a couple different sizes. I found daylight color is better than warm white.

Yeah, I’ve been doing the flashlight thing for years. The problem is holding the flashlight with one hand while trying to dig for mags, ammo and guns with the other. Things better organized in the safe would help a lot also.

I use a head light myself. They are cheap as hell.

good point. I bought a couple lights I installed in my ammo closet, but they require you to be able to screw them into and mount them, in dry wall. I've had the "sticky" lights that would work well if your safe walls are covered in material velcro can hook on to, and if you buy a few of them, they light up when you open the door, a number recharge via USB. You might find that helpful, and get a couple for the walls too.

    Just a thought.

I just grabbed a couple led motion lights at Lowe’s. They use 3AA batteries and last a long time. I put the hook side of the Velcro on the back and that sticks very well to the lining in my safe. There mounted so I can see all the shelves and come on when the door opens.
I change the batteries about every 6 months and they cost $14 each or so plus you can move them around if you like.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, looks great! I assume that little ball unit in the floor is the motion detector the strips are connected to.

My set up is similar to dukes. I got some strips of led rope lights and installed a typical flip switch just inside the door. Works very well and under 30 bucks installed.

My Liberty Safe came with a electric plug-in option; I was thinking about doing something similar.

Bit off topic but do you need a dehumidifier if your safe is in in your house?
