I am still less than a year into the 1911 game. My trips to the range are definitely better with this platform.

I recently picked up a Baer UTC in 45 ACP and was looking for a decent, consistent production ammunition to maximize target shooting accuracy of the pistol at the range. I'm
looking for suggestions based on experience.

Thanks!!!!

the gun is so accurate,I do not think ammo is a real issue unless you are shooting long distances over 25 yards
a name brand 230 gr fmj ammo(brass cased of course) will serve you well.

I have use dblazer brass, geco, spear, ame eagle and armscor with out issue

What distance are you shooting and what type of groups are you looking to achieve?
I'm shooting 10-25 yards at the range (indoor). Would a 3 inch grouping at 20 yards be a reasonable objective? I shoot semi regularly, but not thousands on top of thousands for any particular pistol in a year. I'm not a competition shooter, just recreational, but I enjoy making the tight groups, which are much more realistic with a 1911 in my hand.

Ill shoot just about anything, new, reman, aluminum case, brass coated steel case, cheap, or not....

What I DONT like, is WWB (Winchester white box). It shoots ok, just DIRTY. come home all black everywhere. Don't wear a white shirt when shooting it.

So, I don't buy it anymore.

I have been using the PPU 230gr FMJ for both practice & Carry. I like PPU for
it's clean burn & it's reliable in all my 45acp pistols. We have used there ammo
for well over 25 years & have not had 1 misfire yet.

Ammo like the 100/200 round White boxes of Winchester from Wal-Mart is so
filthy it requires a tear down. Using clean ammo & the ammo you will carry
makes sense to me. After a long while we come to believe in our weapon &
ammo. I believe this trust is important to the way we feel in a survival or Combat
situation.
