I was admiring a 1911 on another thread. I am still semi-new to shooting, and so there are brands I have not heard of, or seen, yet. When I do see something new to me, I go look up the weapon, see the specs, read reviews, and both negatives and positives. If I still have a question, I ask in the thread. Usually it might be specific to that weapon, but I saw something in the specs I had not seen before, so I wanted a larger pool for information.
"Recommended Maintenance Interval, 10K"
I can basically understand what that means, but I had not heard the term before or seen it. Is this something i need to be considering; if so what would you recommend, is there a place I can find that from Ruger?
So I want to keep my weapon in good shape, but I got the addiction bad last Feb 2021, and have put between 5K-6K rounds through it. It was made in 2013, and I bought it 3 years ago; but only started shooting regularly since Feb 2021. Should I take it to a gunsmith and have them go over it after a certain amount of rounds? Any clarification to help me be more precise in the care of my weapon would be appreciated.
