REDUCED Colt Gunsite Stainless Government 1911

Just made a purchase on this forum so I want to try to balance out the damage to my bank account.

I bought this gun off Gunbroker a few years ago so I don't know a round count. But it looks lightly used as seen in the photos.

I test fired it, about 50-75 flawless rounds of factory .45, cleaned the gun, and put it away. Either before or after test fire, I replaced the mainspring, recoil spring, and firing pin spring with Wilson springs, and I replaced the recoil guide with a Wilson one that fits the flat wire recoil spring. I also replaced the magazine release with a high release from EGW.

All the original parts, springs are included. There are a few handling marks and a light idiot mark (see photo) but the guns looks like it was well cared for and not carried.

Also, the original literature and other items are included. I failed to photo the magazines but it comes with 2 Wilson mags.

The grips are Wood Caliber grips with Colt emblems. The barrel is marked as a Colt NM barrel.

$1300 (reduced from $1500) shipped. I prefer to use Ship My Gun but we can work out the shipping mode. I prefer payment in bank/cashiers check or US postal money orders. PM me with questions. Thanks.

Nice piece!
Is this a 70 or 80 series?
it's a series 70.

this is a nice piece. Looks like it's been hardly shot, and the slide and back end have significant dehorning. That was Cooper's specs!!!!

that is cool!

I wish this was a Commander, but then it would not be a Gunsite pistol.

You can see from photo #2 that underneath the slide there is no plunger, so it is a 70 series. AFAIK all Colt Gunsite 1911s are 70 series. I used a Wilson extra power firing pin spring, which mitigates against any possible drop/AD in a 70 series 1911.

I neglected to post an overall photo of all the goodies that come with the pistol so here one is.

I had a GS commander as well but sold it a few weeks ago. I also still have a GS Officers but I probably will be putting that up for sale soon.
