I just received word that Jon @Highfiguregrips had finished a set of redwood burl grips for me, and I'm very pleased with the work. He cautioned me that the wood doesn't wear well, but I wanted them for BBQ and photos, so durability wasn't a big deal.
I also sent him some 4,000 year old bog oak, and some Ancient Kauri wood that's older than the oak. So, we'll see what happens with the new project!
