Remsport Rail 1911

    Some have seen this project that I had built as my nightstand gun, but I haven't posted it up on the forum. Built from a frame/slide/barrel kit.
    Specs from Remsport:
    • Stainless steel rail government fitted frame and slide.
    • Fitted stainless steel match barrel and bushing.
    • 15 lpi FS checkering.
    • Serrated top of slide.
    • Novak cut front and rear sights.
    • Bare magwell for a custom bevel.

    Wolff spring kit
    Wilson stainless spring plug
    Wilson stainless tactical ambi thumb safety
    Wilson stainless pin set
    Wilson stainless bulletproof extractor
    Wilson stainless extended ejector
    EGW stainless spring guide
    EGW stainless beavertail grip safety
    EGW stainless 9mm/38 super firing pin
    EGW stainless oversize firing pin
    EGW stainless mag catch
    Ed Brown stainless mag catch lock
    Harrison stainless plunger tube
    Harrison tactical ignition set; hammer, sear, disconnector
    10-8 stainless slide stop
    10-8 black solid rear sight
    10-8 flat trigger
    Novak tritium front sight
    Guncrafter Industry mainspring housing
    VZ Frag grips
    Brownells grip bushings and screws

    Finished and media blaster with 220 grit glass beads.

    So today, I finally got around to putting it out to 25 yards. Total of 5 rounds of 230g Winchester FMJ, freehand. I'm pretty happy about the out come. :biggrin1:

    I saw it on TOS, fantastic looking pistol brother, and it shoots good too. This build must inspire an incredible sense of pride!!

    He did from a Slide/Frame/Barrel kit if I am not mistaken from what I read elsewhere.....I am sure I will be corrected if wrong......

    R, this was my first built, did it all by myself. Frame/slide and barrel prefitted from Remsport. Everything else, I had fitted by hand.

    I'm not old enough to be called Sir..... :tongueout:

    The pistol looks bad a$$, and is an inspiration. I would too one day like to give this a try. Beautiful gun.........:thumb:

    I'll keep tinkering until I have some more time. I would love to build guns w/ my hands.

    Taking inspirations and paying attention from top tier smiths really helps.

    That project really did turn out great!

    After my failed project with the 6" frame/slide set, I have been messing with the
    Springer Loaded I picked up. Do plan on a build later this year. Have been thinking
    about using one of the Wilson Combat fitted frame/slide sets.

    I would love to get into a Rogers class one day where you build your own, very fair price considering the tools, skills learned, and the fact you end up with a pistol at the end.

    I'd have to look for the thread on another site but that Wilson kit is getting really good reviews. Brownell's carries it as well.

    That would be a Rodgers' class not a Rogers' class. :nod:

    Thanks Greg.

    I'm psych on seeing that Loaded DYI project that you're working on.

    That WC kit is a great price for what you're getting with it.
