Well, I like to specialize (I guess I feel like I spend less) and pre-pandemic I didn't even own a revolver and then out of "lock-down" boredom started to surf GB nightly and settled on starting a little collection of 38 special snubbies. Now, I'm up to five with bids on a sixth :)

I see prices have increased about $150-200 per gun from when I bought some of these 100-120 days ago, I guess the gun buying surge is real and most of these older revolvers can be sent to CA which probably doesn't hurt sales either.

My meager gathering includes this newly acquired Colt Cobra, super light with its alloy frame and it shot beautifully yesterday.

A Colt detective which was the first one in my collection and it feel really good in the hand

After I picked up the above Colt Detective of course I needed nickle/steel gun and was drawn to this S&W Model 60-2, as a ying to the black Colts yang

Then I found this Ruger SP101 and got a really good deal on it and it shoots fantastic, if I was going to carry one for quick trips, this would be it.

Lastly was this S&W Model 42, I never knew a revolver could have a grip safety and just had to have this little unique shooter for the emerging revolver collection.

I'll have to say these are fun to shoot, way cheaper to collect than 1911's (at least where I'm playing) and I don't have to have drawers full of magazines. I can go to the range with several and one 50 round box of ammo and have some fun.

Oh, me and my buddy @William Lear went to the range and shot his Colt Anaconda on Thursday, I'll just say you have to be a man to shoot that and 12 rounds for me was all the man I could dredge up, wow, that's big block Chevy barreling down on you stopping power. But I was OK at 15 ft.

Not sure I would ask him to bring it to the range again

Those Federal AE are about the hottest off the shelf 44 mag load I have encountered. Work with some lighter loads and I think you will find it much more manageable.

Someone at the range said we should be shooting 44 special in it and it would be more enjoyable as well

They do have a habit of multiplying. Maybe could use a pre-lock/pre-MIM S&W Model 19 or 66 in there too! What the heck, how about one of each ...

I shoot 44SP in my Model 29 and Anaconda all the time and it's a hoot. You'll love it. It's very comparable to the 45ACP, but with the large revolver frame even less felt recoil. Only thing is, if you use 44SP a lot, you'll need to clean the cylinder chambers real good if you go back to 44MAG. The longer cartridge can stick if the front of the chambers if they are not cleaned well.

I can't like this enough. You have resources I don't right now, but you share exactly my sentimonies.

Wheelguns are everything that's right, especially when everything is going wrong.

Same, I shoot the 44 Mag out of my Ruger Redhawk, but with the 44 Special in it, it's about half as much.

I’m with you on 44 mag, ive never really enjoyed that. Especially, with my tendinitis acting up again in the elbow. Very cool collection.

Careful with the .44special, the caliber is an addiction all its own. A very slippery slope indeed. And this particular launcher is a range time favorite. Didn't intend to derail your snubby thread, all very nice. I like them snubbies, too 20200205_094710~2 (1).jpg

A usual companion when going lightweight. Loaded with plus P hp ammo and a couple speed strips, I don't feel to naked going to store, etc
