I thought there would be a bit more discussion in here about the topic but I didn't find any in the seach. I have the regular RMR on my glock 19 but I think it would stick out a bit too far and look bizarre on a 2011. That's when I heard about the RMRcc, which is nearly the exact width of the 2011 slide. Any thoughts on which route I should take? Thanks!

Some will say that the window on the RMRcc is too small. I have a Glock 17 with an RMR and two Glock 43X's with RMRcc's and I don't agree with that sentiment. I considered putting an RMRcc on my C2, but I've decided to go with an RMR as I prefer the features.

Admittedly I am in the group who feels the CC is too small for anything other than a micro carry "P365, Glock 43 etc" pistol. Even the fullsize RMR is on the small side of my preference on a 2011, I certainly wouldn't want smaller.

I have a RMR on my C2 and don't find it too large. Slide width aside, the C2 is not a small gun. I know KD4 uses a Holosun 507k on his C2, and if I felt the need to go smaller, I think I'd opt for the 407k/507k before I'd try the RMRcc.

These photos are great. The C2 is next on my list and I was mentally debating the RMR with tactical sights vs 507k with carry sights. I think the RMR looks great.

RMR cc on a Commander slide. There is no logic in saying that the widow is too small. If you’re looking around in the window for the dot then you need more practice indexing the gun. This is coming from someone the practicality lived with a red dot equipped gun in their hand for 15 years as I was a sponsored and payed IPSC shooter.

That's what I'm talking about! It just looks like it belongs there. Obviously, being direct milled helps but it just fits. And you're right, I do need more practice!

My profile pic is of my Staccato C2 (that I foolishly sold) direct milled for an rmrcc. It's a perfect fit for the C2 in my opinion, and doesn't overhang the slide. Vulcan did the work for me and their direct mill cowitnesses with the stock front sight, and they cut a Glock sight dovetail for use with a Glock suppressor height rear sight. I wouldn't hesitate to use the combo again.

It all depends on what you are using it for in my opinion. I only use the rmrcc on guns I HAVE to use it on, like @AJP said. Mainly my Sig365xl and my Hellcat. All my 2011/1911 that are optics ready in some way get a RMR or SRO. I know both @SLG and @Ethank are bunch better shooters than I am and I THINK they both swear by normal RMRs.

What do you guys think, if anything about the RMRcc?

I have an RMR CC, but honestly have not done more than just play with it. For the way I use small guns, an RDS just gets in the way, so all my dot guns are "normal size", with normal size rds. I currently only use RMR's or Acro's for carry.

As far as needing practice, that really isn't the issue in my mind. First, everyone needs more practice, but finding the dot on presentation is the easy part. Its finding the dot again and again when doing things like one handed shooting under a car at a weird angle. Doesn't matter how good a shooter you are, a bigger window helps with all the non-square range stuff guns are meant for.

RDS are awesome on pistols, but they have some serious drawbacks for the vast majority of even skilled shooters. An RMR is marginal in window size, but totally useable with a lot of practice. The Acro is a drop easier. Who knows what will come down the road to improve our use of them.

The CC certainly looks good when direct milled to a 1911. I will have to play with it some more, but I don't mind a little overhang.

I have both of my Atlases running the RMR CC. I specifically used this one because of the smaller profile. I do not like how "regular" sized optics hang over the slide. I guess I'm a bit vain as I do consider the looks of a pistol and the smaller profile of the CC is less obtrusive looking and does not detract from the looks of the original pistol.
As far as function, I do not find the small window to be a problem. I have never had a problem with finding the dot upon presentation of the gun. I believe if you have a good base with iron sights, finding the dot is not a problem.
The only issue (which is small) is the dot "leaving" the window with quick double taps. But I believe this may be due to my grip pressure and technique., something I am working on.

With respect to MPD, I'm happy he's confident in his conclusions and it seems like he's vetted the subject. However, every individual is limited to their own abilities.

I didn't feel that the RMRcc was "too small" when I shot one on a Marvel model gun the first time. Rather, I would say the RMR is "more forgiving" if you're not fully competent in the dot life yet. There was a noticeable difference in size going back and forth from my C2 to the other gun.
ON THE RANGE, I had no issues finding the dot in the RMRcc and keeping it the window so long as I did everything I was supposed to do. My concern is outside of range/ideal conditions. Ex: Weak hand only on the move...probably going to struggle compared to the RMR.

No doubt the RMRcc looks better, but I wouldn't go all-in until I tried it for myself...just my $0.02

I selected the DUO option so it would just be a matter of buying a new adapter plate. I know the plates are not ideal but I wouldn't be marrying the cc in my case, it would just cost some money to switch.

It doesn't look bad at all and its a very minor difference. I'm probably over thinking it tbh but I do feel the cc is closer to the slide width of the 2011.

I think that looks bad because of the angle... and whatever that horrific rear sight is.

I have an RMR on a C2, I would not even consider an RMRcc, too small for me on the C2.

Just mounted an RMRcc on my C. I think it pairs well keeping the whole package slim. I would definitely go full size RMR on a c2 though.
