It's gotta be over a decade ago when I first came across @RCSchauland 's first ACW website in all its HTML 1911 doctor glory 😎 and sent him every Colt I could get my grubby hands on.

Well, he's still the 1911 doctor in my book. Here's a wedding gift Wilson CQB he worked over to bring it to as close to perfect as you can get, as this is the one 1911 I have decided to keep.

Aesthetically, not much changed. Internally, we've got a welded and re-fit frame & slide, a 3.5 pound rolling trigger break, re-fit barrel, a very well fit bushing, a new trigger shoe, the disconnector mod, HRT mod, some de-horning and safety re-shaping to what I've come to prefer.

The tolerances and smoothness are what you would expect from a top notch shop like his.

Top it off with clean DLC and he brought life back into this old pistol.

I'm not one much for photos, but I wanted to share this one for all you other addicts.

Thanks again Rob!

That's a beautiful pistol. I hope to own one of Rob's one day.

What's that leather appendix rig?

I've had an SME and while it was well made it didn't function as well as a JMCK wing claw. I think they're way over hyped.

I'd like to explore other leather options.

This particular model is a prototype for the Aegis Calypto D L7. Prior to his release of it, I had the privilege to test it and provide feedback to Dave on the holster. It carries this 50oz (brass grips) 1911 with no issues at all. It was designed with the goal to be as stable as possible for heavier full size guns. I agree, the modwing and clips are the way for AIWB.

I did order one post-production for a USP 9, which I'll have to write a review on soon. Black sharkskin and OD green crocodile, really sets this one apart and is unique.
