Hello all,
My first post here. I recently built another 1911, this one with a 1911 builders govt frame with a Rock Island 22TCM upper. I’m still working out the bugs and haven’t got to doing the blending yet. My problem is that the slide has a little slack forward and back on the frame rails. Roughly 1/16 of an inch. When the pistol is in battery I can look into the takedown notch on the slide and see that the base of the guide rod isn’t against the end of the frame rails. Is there a way to tighten it up? I’ll post pics ASAP

I have an 8 lb Wolfe spring in the gun. My 10mm has a little gap here to and so does my colt combat commander in 45. I’m wondering since with the smaller caliber and lighter recoil spring that it just doesn’t have the “umph” to keep the slide pressed forward?
