Rollmark restoration

I don't usually post rollmark restoration jobs, but this one was a bit more involved than usual. The client had the slide laser etched with a marking that just wasn't quite like the original. I filed and stoned out the incorrect marking and polished the slide to accept the new marking. Using a smoke pull of the correct markings, the image was brought into my Samsung tablet drawing app and manipulated, creating an image which would transfer to the steel for the layout. The markings were then hand engraved.

There just isn't anything classier looking than beautiful (appropriate) roll marks on a finely finished Colt.
Well done Sir.... a true artisan in his craft.

I wholly agree with The Collector’s assessment. Can’t say it any better.

I’ve always believed that the mark of a true craftsman is their ability to make something that looks like we believe it should have in the first place. Very, very nice!
